Abandoned Stations On London's Underground

"There are about 40 abandoned or relocated stations on the Underground network along its entire 255 miles (408Km) of trackway - some subsurface and some above ground. Some have vanished without trace whereas others are almost intact, grimey time capsules of the era when they were closed."

Asia's Newest Sport - Yak Skiing

"The magazine's Asian edition says this "implausible extreme sport" involves going at rocket speed uphill attached by rope to a yak charging downhill. "

"If you forget yourself in the excitement and shake the bucket too soon, you'll be flattened by two hairy tons of behemoth," the magazine says. "

"Mr Dorje's advice is: "Never shake the bucket of nuts before you're tied to the yak rope."

'Zombies' Arrested In Downtown Minneapolis

"Six friends spruced up in fake blood and tattered clothing were arrested in downtown Minneapolis on suspicion of toting "simulated weapons of mass destruction."

Police said the group were allegedly carrying bags with wires sticking out, making it look like a bomb, while meandering and dancing to music as part of a "zombie dance party" Saturday night."

Stolen R's

A consonant-loving thief had police and business owners in Greencastle baffled after dozens of letter Rs were stolen from signs. The weekend caper targeted gas stations, restaurants, repair shops and medical offices in the small city about 40 miles west of Indianapolis, as well as the National Guard post."

So who stole all the RRRR's? Perhaps pirates?

The Perfect Bacon Martini

"Lightly mist martini glass with vermouth, and rim the edge with bacon grease. In a cocktail shaker, mix 3oz vodka, one dash tobasco, and one dash olive juice. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. Skim excess bacon grease from surface of cocktail. Garnish with one slice of bacon."

That would go great with the Bacon Cereal post a few weeks ago.

Feline Felon Suspected In Glove Thefts

"Willy, a 1-year-old cat is photographed Thursday, July 20, 2006, with a display of several pairs of garden gloves that he took from unknown yards in his neighborhood in Pelham, N.Y. Willy has brought home nine pairs of gloves and five singles over several weeks laying them on his owners' front or back porches."

Day Of The Dead Remake

Casting information is slowly trickling in about the Day of the Dead remake. Ving Rhames is set to star, but not reprising the role he played in the Dawn of the Dead remake, instead he is set to play Captain Rhodes. Mena Suvari, from American Beauty, is cast to play Sarah and Nick Cannon as Salazar.

Steve Miner, director of Lake Placid and Halloween H20, is going to helm the project.

Zombie March on Boston II

THE OFFICIAL ZOMBIE MARCH ON BOSTON II IS COMING! THIS SUMMER IS THE SUMMER OF THE UNDEAD.

"Once again, we will be meeting at South Station. This march will begin at 6:00pm on July 22nd. Rip your shirt, pore on the fake gore, and come join us for a night of wandering the streets of Boston and Cambridge. This spring's march in Somerville was a real scream, with "audience participation" (the police held back traffic for us, tourists wanted photos). The Brattle is even getting involved."
